Zcode Mobile Support
Zcode Mobile is an independent third-party mobile client for a compatible ZCode desktop workspace. It is not an official ZCode product.
Getting connected
1. Open ZCode's mobile remote-control feature on your computer.
2. Open Zcode Mobile on your iPhone or iPad.
3. Tap "Scan QR code to connect", choose "Import from Photos", or use "Enter LAN address manually".
4. For manual entry, use an address such as 192.168.1.20:8080, MacBook.local:8080, or an HTTPS URL. Plain HTTP is allowed only for private LAN addresses.
5. Allow Local Network access when iOS asks. The app opens the workspace only after verifying that it is reachable.
How do I experience the English interface?
Tap "Language / 语言" on the connection screen and choose English. You do not need to change your Apple account or system language. Automatic mode uses Chinese for the mainland China App Store storefront and English elsewhere; when the storefront is unavailable, the device region is used as a fallback. The chosen language is stored on your device.
Workspace text, messages, code, and the desktop service's own interface come from the service you connect to. They are not automatically translated or sent to a translation service.
I cannot connect
- For LAN access, ensure your phone and computer can reach each other on the same local network.
- Make sure the computer service listens on a LAN interface, not only 127.0.0.1. On your phone, localhost and 127.0.0.1 refer to the phone itself.
- Keep desktop remote control running. Generate a fresh QR code if the address or token changed.
- Check camera and Local Network permissions in iOS Settings.
- Guest Wi-Fi or client isolation may prevent devices from communicating even on the same Wi-Fi name.
Rescan, refresh, or disconnect
In a workspace, tap the faint "+" control on the right side to open the mobile controls. Use the conversation handle to open a compatible workspace's conversation sidebar.
Optional promotions and ads
After 3 cumulative foreground minutes in an online workspace, the app becomes eligible for a sponsored break at the next conversation or page transition. It does not interrupt typing solely because a timer expires, and never appears on the connection screen. At most one break is attempted in any continuous 48 hours, even if the app is closed during loading or playback. Skip is immediately available.
There is no View ad entry button. At the first eligible break, choose either consented non-personalized ads or decline extra data and try Google limited ads. Declining extra data is not recorded as consent to ordinary non-personalized processing. Limited ads reduce local-identifier features but still use necessary IP/technical data; Google may use fraud-prevention-only cookies/storage under its configuration. UMP regional requirements still apply before any request. If Google disallows requests, nothing is loaded. Later eligible breaks use the saved mode automatically. You may skip a break or fully disable automatic ads in Ads and privacy settings. Shopping links remain separate and never open automatically.
Google ads use non-personalized requests with publisher first-party ID disabled. At first launch, network access is initiated first. After pending network permission prompts end and the app is active, the app requests iOS tracking authorization before initializing advertising SDKs or requesting ads. An existing system decision is not requested again. Denial or device restrictions do not block normal use or eligible non-personalized/limited ads. Allowing tracking does not turn Google ad personalization on. When ready, the ordinary full-screen ad is shown automatically; there is no second Play tap. Ads may be video, image, or rich media. No cash or in-app reward is offered. Skipping, canceling, denied tracking, failed loading, or no available ad never restricts your workspace.
Leaving the page, opening privacy settings, or backgrounding while loading cancels pending automatic presentation. Where required, open "Ads and privacy settings" to review Google's privacy options. Advertising SDKs still process necessary information; non-personalized does not mean no data processing. See the Privacy Policy.
Connection data and credentials
Workspace traffic goes directly to the service you choose. The developer runs no account or workspace analytics server and does not receive your connection credentials, conversations, or code from the app.
To clear saved credentials, leave both username and password empty in connection settings and save a valid connection. Uninstalling removes app-container data, but iOS Keychain items can persist; clear credentials first if necessary.
